LESSONS BEYOND CLASSROOM WALLS.

Describe something you learned in high school.

My High School Journey at St. Lucia Hill School

High school was more than just books and exams for me—it was the place where I truly grew into the person I am today. At St. Lucia Hill School, I learned valuable life lessons that still guide me every single day.

One of the most important things I learned was the value of time. Each day began as early as 5 a.m., with morning preps setting the tone for discipline and punctuality. Waking up that early wasn’t easy at first, but over time, it became a habit that shaped my character. I learned how to plan my day, meet deadlines, and stay consistent—traits that have followed me long after school.

St. Lucia Hill School also introduced me to the world of sports. I fell in love with netball and volleyball, and those games were more than just physical activity—they were moments of joy, teamwork, and building friendships. I can still hear the cheers and feel the thrill of those matches.

I was honored to serve as the Head Girl of my school, a role that came with great responsibility. Leading others helped me grow in confidence and maturity. I worked closely with my teachers and peers, ensuring our school remained a place of respect, unity, and discipline. It wasn’t always easy, but I gave my best—and it paid off. I learned how to listen, make decisions, and lead by example.

Another key lesson I took from my high school journey was the importance of decency and smartness—not just in appearance, but also in behavior. We were taught to carry ourselves with dignity and respect, and I took that to heart. Discipline was part of our daily lives, and I prided myself in being one of the most disciplined students.

Looking back, I’m truly proud of my time at St. Lucia Hill School. The teachers were dedicated, my fellow students were like family, and every experience—good or challenging—shaped my future. It was more than just a school; it was home.
