Hajji and Hajji Restaurant

In the heart of Kampala, where the city beats with life and color, there lies a hidden gem that never fails to warm my heart and fill my stomach—Hajji and Hajji Restaurant. It’s not just a place to eat, but a place where memories are made, where food tastes like home, and where every visit feels like a reunion.
From the moment I step in, the welcoming smiles of the staff make me feel like family. There’s a certain warmth in their greetings, a pleasure in their service, and an undeniable love in the food they prepare. It’s more than just hospitality—it’s homegrown kindness that lingers long after the last bite.
True taste of Ugandan food.

What draws me there again and again is the rich variety of local food that feels like a celebration of Ugandan culture. My favourite plate? A generous serving of matooke, soft and perfectly steamed, paired with groundnut sauce rich in flavour and mixed with tender fish. Add a bit of sweet potato, soft cassava, well-cooked rice, and some delicious boiled chicken—and that’s a feast fit for royalty.
And when I crave something light yet satisfying, I go for their crispy fries and juicy chicken, often washed down with a chilled glass of mango or apple juice. It’s the perfect combo—comforting, filling, and simply delicious. But when I want to treat myself, there’s nothing like their special pilawo—fragrant, spiced just right, and mixed with chunks of tender goat meat. Each bite is a burst of flavor that tells a story of tradition, love, and skill.
The taste of traditional 😋

Hajji and Hajji isn’t just my favorite restaurant because of the food—it’s my favorite because it reminds me that joy is found in simple moments: a plate of food made with love, a friendly smile, and the feeling of being right where you belong.
